Doctrine Statement

The Scriptures/The Bible

The Bible has 66 books separated into the Old and New Testament.  In the autograph, they are absolutely true and accurate.  The fact is that God supernaturally inspired and directed the writers to reveal to mankind His perfect word without even the smallest error or inconsistency and without waving the human author's style.  This is technically called verbal plenary inspiration.  The original languages of Scripture are Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.  It is in these languages that God has faithfully protected and preserved His accurate Truth. In the faithful isagogical, exegetical and categorical study of His word by an academically prepared man with the spiritual gift of Pastor-Teacher, teaches by means of the Holy Spirit to believers filled with the Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God breathed and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; so that the man of God may be mature, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Peter 1:20-21 But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one's own interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
Matthew 5:18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.
John 16:12-13 I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.  But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.
John 10:35 even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.
1 Corinthians 2:14-16 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.  But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.
Psalms 119:89 Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.
Proverbs 30:5-6 Every word of God is tested; He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.  Do not add to His words Or He will reprove you, and you will be proved a liar.

The Trinity

There is one triune God. God's essence includes Sovereignty, Righteousness, Justice, Eternal Life, Love, Omnipotence, Omniscience, Omnipresence, Immutable and Veracity. The Godhead exists in three persons; the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are all co-equal, co-eternal and co-infinite.
Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!
Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
Acts 5:3-5; But Peter said, "Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land?  While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.  And as he heard these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last; and great fear came over all who heard of it
John 10:30 I and the Father are one.
Psalm 22:1 My God, my God, why have You forsaken me?
Far from my deliverance are the words of my groaning.
Matthew 3:16 After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him,
2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
Genesis 48:15-16 He blessed Joseph, and said, "The God before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac walked,
The God who has been my shepherd all my life to this day, The angel who has redeemed me from all evil, Bless the lads; And may my name live on in them, And the names of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; And may they grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth."
2 Samuel 23:2-3 The Spirit of the LORD spoke by me, And His word was on my tongue. "The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me, He who rules over men righteously, Who rules in the fear of God,
Genesis 1:26. Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

Man

God created man with a soul that is in His image, that is to say that God has essence and so does man.  God, being perfect created man perfect.  Man used his volition to choose independence of God by eating the forbidden fruit.  This act created a separation from God that man could not overcome that results in an eternal future in the Lake of Fire.  This is called the total depravity of man.

Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Genesis 3:18-19 "Both thorns and thistles it shall grow for you; And you will eat the plants of the field; By the sweat of your face You will eat bread, Till you return to the ground, Because from it you were taken; For you are dust, And to dust you shall return."
Romans 3:22-23 even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Ephesians 2:12 remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
Hebrews 9:27 And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,

Jesus Christ the Mediator

Since man was unable to save himself, God provided a grace way of deliverance that would not compromise His essence.  Our great God took on the essence of man with any change is His deity.  He became completely and totally human while not losing any divine essence.  He, therefore, became the perfect mediator.  He was equal in God in His deity and equal with man, as God had created Adam.

While our Lord Jesus Christ lived on this earth, He was tempted much more than any man had ever been tempted and in His humanity He choose not to sin.  This qualified Him to become the perfect spiritual substitute for our sins.  He loved us so much that He paid the price of all sins of all mankind.  This was a manifestation of His love and His grace for us.

This resulted in man's potential for deliverance from the Lake of Fire.  John 3:16 says in corrected translation "For you see God loved the world so much with the result that gave His uniquely born Son as a substitute for us, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."

That salvation was accomplished when the Justice and Righteousness of the God were propitiated (satisfied) by the Man Christ Jesus (who had no sin), being made sin for (instead of) us. (1 Timothy 2:5,6; 1 Peter 2:22; 2 Corinthians 5:21).

Philippians 2:5-8 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.  Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Luke 1:35 The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.
Hebrews 1:3 And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
Hebrews 2:9-16 But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings. For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying, "I WILL PROCLAIM YOUR NAME TO MY BRETHREN, IN THE MIDST OF THE CONGREGATION I WILL SING YOUR PRAISE." And again, "I WILL PUT MY TRUST IN HIM "And again, "BEHOLD, I AND THE CHILDREN WHOM GOD HAS GIVEN ME." Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham.
1 Timothy 2:5-6 For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.
1 Peter 2:22 WHO COMMITTED NO SIN, NOR WAS ANY DECEIT FOUND IN HIS MOUTH;
2 Corinthians 5:21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Isaiah 53:10-12 But the LORD was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand.  As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied; By His knowledge the Righteous One, My Servant, will justify the many, As He will bear their iniquities. Therefore, I will allot Him a portion with the great, And He will divide the booty with the strong; Because He poured out Himself to death, And was numbered with the transgressors; Yet He Himself bore the sin of many, And interceded for the transgressors.
John 19:30 Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 4:25 He who was delivered over because of our transgressions, and was raised because of our justification.
